Would you like to take a one-day bicycle tour that’s not just about monotonous riding with an odometer attached to your arm, but is rich in attractions? Then we have designed this tour especially for you, as the route leads through towns, villages and forests, and you can see castles, churches, ancient ruins and admire the natural world of Little Rye Island (Szigetköz) and the Danube River. If you don’t believe that so many sights can be fitted into just one trip, make your bike ready and try out our tour!
Thanks to its natural and cultural endowments, the former centre of the “thousand-year-old Moson County” offers attractions to visiting tourists all year round. Nowadays, it is mainly the medicinal water that attracts visitors, but this town in Little Rye Island is not lacking in cultural and historical attractions either.
This village near the Hungarian-Slovak border is a well-known stop for the community of cyclists due to the proximity of the EuroVelo 6 cycle route. The road leads to Dunakiliti through the village of Feketeerdő and is a perfect place to rest after the distance cycled so far. For the visitors, we recommend the Kiserdei promenade and educational trail, as well as the half-finished dam.
This village is bordered by Slovakia to the north and Austria to the west. Here we enter the already mentioned EuroVelo 6 cycle route and cross the Hungarian-Slovak border. Near the village, there is a sculpture park in memory of the former wire fence, which marked the triple border.
The village closest to the Hungarian-Slovak border is known mainly for its natural (water) attractions. The bird-watching tower, not far from the village, and the “lakes of Čunovo” which can also be reached by bike provide a perfect environment for admiring the birds and the stunning natural beauties along the Danube River. Lovers of culture can visit the Danubiana Meulensteen Art Museum, which is only 5 km from Čunovo.
This once independent village is now part of the city of Bratislava, and its most famous symbols are the Zichy Castle and Castle Park. The castle is in need of renovation; the Slovak government together with the city administration of Bratislava plan to modernize it in the near future. The open-air exhibition called Museum Ancient Gerulata, preserving the memory of the Roman era, is also found in Rusovce. An educational trail located not far from the exhibition shows visitors the surrounding natural world. The café, Sankt Vitus Kaffe, opened in the former church that was built in Romanesque style and offers a great opportunity to relax.
Our journey leads us back to the starting point of the cycling tour, to Mosonmagyaróvár, on the EuroVelo 6 cycle route, through the villages of Čunovo, Rajka and Bezenye.

Discover tall tales and notable legends and the places that bear their memories throughout the points of this tour. And decide for yourself whether fairies existed among us, if bread can indeed turn to stone or whether the iron rooster may crow.
How it's made
The kids can still marvel at the world. They are curious. They are interested in the whys and the wherefores. They want to know how things are made. Be a child again, dare to be a curious researcher and explorer again! If you take this tour, you will get an answer to how chocolate or our daily bread is made, enter a meat factory and the world-famous Audi factory, and finally learn the secrets of wine-making in a winery.
