Complicated patterns, rich ornamentation, monumentality, strong contrasts and dynamism, these are the main stylistic traits of the Baroque age. The city of Győr is almost synonymous with Baroque becoming the defining style of art during the Turkish occupation of Hungary, as it is considered to be one of the most important centers of the Baroque period.
