The institution was opened in 2010 as a Children's Museum. the interior was furnished to meet the needs of young visitors, the exhibited works are placed in such a way as to suit their height, the accompanying texts are supplemented with graphics in order to help youngsters better understand what they see. The programs are a great experience for the whole family. Activities related to the exhibitions are held in the building’s basement where participants can become acquainted with the techniques used to create the works of art, as well as with fine and applied arts in general. The drama room and the games that aid young visitors in processing the contents of the exhibition can be found in the interactive space. Participants can create their own works of art with the help of trained museum educators and artists.

Chapter House

The exhibitions of the Saint Laslo Visitor’s Center can be found in the historical center of Győr, in the Káptalanház (Chapter House). This is a classicist style building featuring a few medieval characteristics. Visitors can become acquainted with the architecture of the Győr diocese as well as the artifacts of the 17th-18th-century Busó-walking, masterpieces of Baroque art, the life stories of the martyr priests of the 20th century as well as the most significant moments of Pope John Paul II’s visit to Győr. The building features a chantry room furnished in 18-19th-century style.

The cathedral, built during the reign of Saint Stephan is unique in Hungary as it is home to three holy sites, the Herma of Saint Laslo, the Relic of the Weeping Virgin Mother and the grave of beatified Vilmos Apor can all be found here. In the lower room of the museum, visitors can get to know the story of the basilica's construction as well as its most important artistic artifacts with the help of tableaus and televisions. The old safe now features a showcase containing the liturgic treasures of the past 500 years. The tombstones of the bishops of Győr and other famous persons can be seen on the walls. The upper-level features a throne installation showing visitors the facial reconstruction of St. Laslo. Artifacts of the Hungarian cult of St. Laslo ornament the walls.

The 18-meter high structure is located on the southernmost of the three hills of Pannonhalma. Near it is the Canopy Nature Trail opened in 2018.

Memorial Exhibition of the Beatified Vilmos Apor

The exhibition was established at the original site of the martyrdom of the beatified bishop Vilmos Apor and was renewed to commemorate the 70th anniversary of his heroic death. Apor was shot by a drunken Soviet soldier in 1945 on Good Friday as he was protecting the women and children hidden in the basement from the violent, invasive armed men. The exhibition provides insight not only into the age Apor lived in and his heroism, but passing through the arched walkways of the basement allows the visitor to experience the dark oppressive nature of the times from which the kind, cheerful nature of the Bishop Vilmos Apor, a man who dedicated his life to serving God, clearly shines through.

Diocese Treasury and Library

The institution holds two significant artifacts related to King Matthias. At the treasury exhibition, we can see the 15th-century Florentine ceremonial clothing featuring the Hunyadi Dynasty’s raven crest on its lower half. According to tradition, this was a gift to the cathedral from the king. The library’s most precious artifact is a corvina from King Matthias's renowned collection. This was the first corvina to be translated into Hungarian. Due to its sensitivity, this extremely valuable book cannot be viewed at the permanent exhibition, however, a replica was published in 2018.

One of the hidden gates of the castle can be found in a monument building in the heart of Győr which offers visitors a piece of the city’s history. The institution provides a place for contemporary local, national and international artists to introduce their works. It enriches the city’s cultural, religious life and tourism offerings by collaborating with a number of partners as well as providing the citizens of Gőyr with the opportunity to develop their sense of beauty and understanding of fine arts. This was the first of the ‘citizen’s houses’ (historically furnished houses) to open to tourists and locals. The ground floor houses a cafe and the first floor offers an exhibition of sculptures, the second floor houses temporary exhibitions as well as rooms that may be rented for events.

Széchényi Pharmacy Museum

The pharmacy was founded in 1654 by the Jesuits, its ceiling is ornamented with stuccoes and paintings. Old medicine containers and other artifacts of medical history can be seen in the showcases, as well as the stomach sewing machine, the invention of the famous doctor from Győr, Dr. Aladár Petz, as part of the free exhibition. This is the country’s only museum that also operates as a working pharmacy.
