Pannonhalma Archabbey Arboretum
"The monks of old took special care in growing and collecting healing herbs. In 1830 there were already 80 different kinds of trees and shrubs in the Abbey Arboretum. Fábián Szeder was responsible for implementing the English Garden style of the Abbey grounds in the 1840s. The botanical gardens house several hundreds of species of trees and shrubs, the majority of these are special as they are rarely found in the country. Apart from the protected botanical values, there are a wide variety of songbirds living in the arboretum as well. The arboretum’s pleasant atmosphere makes it a peaceful place for relaxation. "
Chapel of the Assumption of Our Lady
The priest and poet László Mécs was the most popular and influential writer of religious poetry between the two World Wars. He died in Pannonhalma and his legacy is maintained by the Benedictine monks here. His grave can be found in the Assumption of Our Lady chapel of the Abbey.
Püspökvár Lookout Tower
The castle was built at the time of the foundation of the Hungarian state and is the home of the Győr diocese to this day. The lookout tower on top of the building gives visitors a uniquely beautiful panorama of the city.
