János Bihari, the violin virtuoso and one of the greatest verbunk artists was born in Nagyabony. For the 200th anniversary of his birth, his home village honored him with a ceremony and a memorial plaque was unveiled on the wall of the Nagyabony community center in 1964.
The virtuoso violinist was born in 1764 in a mudbrick hut in the village. He spent a childhood of poverty in the municipality and moved to Bőny in his teenage years. He is considered to be one of the greatest verbunk musicians: along with János Lavotta and Antal Csermak they were the virtuoso triad of Hungarian musical Romanticism. Ferenc Liszt heard him play in 1822 and remembered him with great admiration as did István Széchenyi and Ferenc Kazinczy. His native village paid homage to János Bihari with a memorial plaque on the facade of the Nagyabony community center in 1964 to commemorate the 200 year anniversary of his birth.

Known as the doctor of the poor, Blessed László Batthyány-Strattmann spent his summer holidays in the village when he was a child, after the Castle of Felbár was taken over by his family in 1882. The village of Csallóköz is thus proud of its blessed prince.
In Felbár, at the turn of the millennium, a memorial plaque was placed on the church wall in honour of the famous doctor. Three years later, the Hungarian elementary school in Felbár took the name of László Batthyány-Strattmann. In 2005, the sainted doctor “returned home” because, on the second anniversary of his beatification, his relic was placed into the Church of Felbár during a solemn ceremony. A memorial day is held in his honour in the village each year. Apart from the locals, pilgrims from all directions of Csallóköz come to the celebration.

The famous poet László Amade was born as the only son of the Baron Antal Amade and Baroness Mária Rozália Simonchich-Horváth in Bős. His best-known poem is the song ""To the Beautiful Bright Soldier..."", to which János Arany wrote a melody. The Hungarian-language elementary school of Bősi was named after László Amade, who held both imperial and royal chamberlain’s positions, on the 300th anniversary of the poet's birth. The Amade Castle still stands in the village where the poet was born. It currently operates as a retirement home.
