2019. August 29.
If you would like to take some time away from the rat race of everyday life and just BE, then this tour is for you. Rousseau's idea of “back to nature” is something that appeals to modern man who wishes to get away from the overwhelming hustle and bustle of everyday life to the quiet unequivocal order of nature. In Japan, Shinrin-yoku or forest bathing very popular, an activity where participants go for long 2-2,5 hour walks in the woods, as if essnetially “bathing” in nature. Why don’t you dive in, too? Enjoy some nature therapy on two wheels in the Csallóköz and Szigetköz.
The road from the church to the cemetery is lined with chestnut trees planted to honor those fallen in the First World War. Since 1993, a carved Calvary scene is included on the avenue.
The row of chestnut trees leading from the church to the cemetery in Horváthkimle is actually a military memorial as the trees were placed here in 1932 in order to honor the soldiers fallen in World War I. A plaque on the wall of the church lists the names of the soldiers who gave their lives in the war. The saplings have since grown into great trees and in the 90s the Stations of the Cross carved from wood were set up along the road. They are the joint work of István Krepsz and András Balázs consecrated in 1993 by Diocesan Bishop Lajos Pápai.

There are a few Eastern plane trees among them, they are especially a sight to behold around the middle of May when they bloom. Walking through it you may feel like you are passing through a tunnel. Don’t miss this fabulous sight!
