Mobilis is a science experience centre where the visitors can experience the joy of discovery in a playful way and marvel at the not so mystical principles of the operation of natural phenomena, everyday devices or even technical innovations, and learn about the laws of physics without noticing. We can try out 70 interactive exhibition tools connected to the worlds of movement, traffic, vehicles, IT and robots. We can participate in exciting and spectacular experimental demonstrations and exploration sessions.

The MobilITy Digital Experience Centre is a creative place where we can create, learn, play, discover, and try out the latest info-communications and digital tools on Saturdays (prior booking is needed).

The 250-hectare floodplain forest is the “lung” of Győr, a popular destination for family excursions. At two well-kept clearings, playground equipment, a space suitable for ball games, campfire places, and rain shelters await those who wish to breathe some fresh air. There is also a nine-station nature gym, as well as an educational trail, and a 9 km walkway with benches, tables, and campfire places.

An adventure park (Rioter Games Theme and Adventure Park) was opened in the immediate vicinity of one of the clearings in 2013, offering an exciting pastime for children and grown-ups alike. You can try out the rope slide and the obstacle course with 50 obstacles, as well as bubble football, virtual reality, tricky glasses, the airsoft, the archery battle, paintball, the laser battle, the segway, and the bubble sumo. Let’s start the adventure!

There are places that have a soul. Which are good to visit, where we feel great. The building that has been serving the arts for more than eighty years and currently houses the Iron Rooster Puppet Theatre on the corner of Gergely Czuczor and Árpád streets in Győr is such a place: open, colourful, friendly, inviting…

The Iron Rooster Puppet Theatre is professionally one of the mostly acknowledged puppet theatres in Hungary: it was one of the first Hungarian companies to receive the great diploma from the International Puppetry Association, UNIMA in 2002.

The puppet artists wait for everyone, from the youngest to the oldest visitors. They offer baby theatre performances for kids aged 0 to 4, the kindergarten and younger school-aged children can see children’s pieces, and the adult and youth performances address young and elderly people alike. The puppet theatre is not an age group, but a genre.

The Iron Rooster Puppet Theatre launched and organized the Győrkőc (Győr’s Kids) Festival in 2008, which has grown into one of the largest all-arts children's festivals not only in Hungary but also in Central Europe, with its ever-increasing number of visitors (nearly 50,000 people). At the beginning of July, the whole of Győr’s centre becomes a playground for a weekend. The motto of Győrkőc is unchanged: “1,000 programmes in 10 locations, no pocket money is needed, because it is free” - the Győrkőc Festival is free of charge for all children under 14 who visit Győr and have a Győrkőc arm ribbon.

One of the most popular tourist attractions of Győr is the deservedly famous János Xantus Zoo. The Zoo shows more than 500 animals of 100 species in large enclosures in conditions similar to their own original habitats. The visitors can see jaguars, giant anteaters, llamas, kangaroos, ring-tailed lemurs, rhinos, flamingos and green iguanas here. The Zoo shows, guinea pig trains, and feeding shows also entertain the whole family. In addition to the animal presentation, the garden is a venue for other cultural and sports events, so visit their website for other interesting programmes.

The Szitásdomb Herb Garden is the last relatively untouched part of a series of sand hills. An interesting part of the hill is where the people of Bácsa fled, together with their animals, during the great flood of 1954. Raised as an island, the then much larger area of sand dunes protected dozens of people and animals from the great flood.

Today, it is a popular hiking place for families with small children, where they can find protected plant rarities along the footpaths. The local plant associations are presented on information boards. In the hilly part next to the herb garden, the children’s dream for off-road cycling comes true. The Cycle Park will soon be opened there.

Visit the herb garden, and the charm of untouched nature, the chirping of birds, and the fresh air will relax you and recharge your batteries!
