The Little Danube forms the northern border of the Rye Island and has provided the local people with high-quality water and food throughout history. Today, fishing is banned almost in the entire river as it is part of an important environmental zone. Nowadays, it is used mainly by enthusiasts of water sports, using a boat, kayak, canoe, or even raft. The tour we offer is longer than the usual routes, as we row almost along the entire Little Danube during the water tour. Three days, nearly 80 km, in the wonderful nature.
The starting point of the tour is the village of Tomášov, where it is worth visiting the wooden promenade built on the Little Danube. The first tour section is the longest, but there are stops and camping places for tired tourists during the tour. We end the first day in the village of Jelka, which has a great restaurant, and we can spend the night in a tent or in the local guest house.
Before embarking on day two, it is worth visiting the watermill of Jelka, which is one of the most famous sights of the Rye Island. During the second section, we cover 28 km, so we spend many hours (about 6 hours) in the boat, but there is nothing to worry about, as there are plenty of options to relax on the banks of the river. We would like to recommend the Bird Park (those who are not too tired from rowing can even compete in beach volleyball) and the watermill in Tomášikovo.
The destination of the second section is the village of Jahodná, where the third watermill of the tour can be visited, but only from the water. We can spend the night in the local guest house, or camp in the designated campsite. During the last section, nature plays the major role, as there are no campsites or villages along the river banks. So, we can admire the natural world of the Little Danube undisturbed, where the highlight is the right-side branch of the Little Danube (Klátovské rameno), the nature conservation area on the border of Topoľníky.

A 5-day water tour from Rajka to Gyõr
Tired of walking and not too enthusiastic about biking either? Join us and row along the Moson-Danube.
Water tour on the river Váh (Vág)
The Váh is the longest river in Slovakia and forms the eastern border of the Rye Island (Žitný ostrov); it flows into the Danube River at the town of Komárno. The floodplain forests on the banks of the river are similar to those that enrich the banks of the Danube. The coastline is sandy at some places, almost “beach-like”, which makes it easy for enthusiasts to push their boats into the water. The one-day water tour we offer starts in the town of Kolárovo and ends in Komárno at the confluence of the two rivers. The distance is a total of 23 km offering a 5-hour boat trip for the lovers of active tourism. However, if you wish to add sightseeing to your water tour, both the starting point and the destination are perfect for this purpose. Perhaps the best-known watermill in the Rye Island is the ship mill in Kolárovo, which commemorates the agricultural history of the area. Komárno is also a perfect destination for sightseeing, especially for those who love history, as the fortification system and the György Klapka Square are also sights one should not miss.
