Győr-Szabadhegy Church of the Reformed Congregation
From the 1920s, the members of the Reformed congregation of Győr-Szabadhegy wished to have their own church. Their cause was helped greatly when two of their benefactors donated a good amount of land to the church where they could build a school and housing for their teachers, but World War II interfered with the construction of the church. The idea of building a new church only came up at the end of the 1980s and construction work began under the ministry of Ferenc Bittner. The church was consecrated on the first Sunday of Advent in 1992 and this was when the first service was held. The tower was built in 1999. The church foremost serves the faith, but it has undertaken some cultural missions in past years as well, so concerts, book launches, exhibitions, and charity events are often held here as well.
Szabadhegy Church of Saint Anne
The first church, which stood where the Saint Anne's Church of Szabadhegy now stands was built in 1789. Due to the growing numbers of the congregation, it had become too small and as its state was deteriorating as well, parson Mihály Kostyán initiated the construction of the current church. The church we know today was consecrated on June 7, 1903, in honor of Saint Anne. The building underwent much strife during World War II with the tower receiving a strike. The careful and dedicated work of János Haller saw the church restored from the damages of the war. Painter Jószef Samodai contributed 5 frescoes to the church. For the 100 year anniversary of the church, the sanctum was also renovated: the liturgical space received a new altar, the church's lighting was modernized and the stained glass windows were completed. In the years following the tower received a new small bell.
Saint Camillus Church of Nádorváros
The construction of the church was begun in 1770 by Camillian monks under the supervision of architects Filip Rastner von Wallbach and Michael Vogler. The construction process was literally not done yet, as the tower and the living quarters were not yet erected when Joseph II disassembled the order in 1787 despite their dedicated and professional service which was renowned and appreciated throughout Europe. The Emperor handed over the church and its supplementary building to the city of Győr for the purpose of establishing a parish. Above the entrance of the present parish, a marble table commemorates these events. The tower was built from 1835 to 1839, its distinguishing characteristic being that it does not rise out of the facade, but as is usual for monks' churches, it rises from behind the sanctum.
