Arrabona EGTC

The Discalced Carmelite Order came to Hungary in 1697. The 50.000 forint legacy left by the archbishop György Szelepchényi made it possible for the order to purchase the Perger House in Győr located near the Castle Bastions and neighboring the Office of Military Architecture and to turn the building into a temporary monastery in 1699. Shortly after, the plans for the permanent order house were completed and construction was finished in 1732. The church's foundation stone was set in 1721 and consecrated in 1725.
