János Bihari, the violin virtuoso and one of the greatest verbunk artists was born in Nagyabony. For the 200th anniversary of his birth, his home village honored him with a ceremony and a memorial plaque was unveiled on the wall of the Nagyabony community center in 1964.

The establishment is among southern Slovakia's most popular and most visited resorts. The 18-hectare complex includes 10 outdoor and indoor pools, of these 3 are healing and thermal waters enriched with minerals. The thermal water comes from 1600 meters deep and is 57 degrees on the surface. The wellness pool has gargoyles, water cannons, a cave waterfall, massage beds, and a jacuzzi. People of all ages are sure to have a good time here. The water of the covered round pool (Rotunda) is high in mineral content and also has an outdoor section. Apart from the wellness pool, there is a smaller covered pool as well, and they also have a children's pool for the little ones.

The center for the arts is located in the city center of Dunajská Streda and offers a rich array of cultural and leisure programs. Among the troupes operating from here are the Aranykert (Golden Garden) Puppet Theater and the Rivalda Theater, which has grown into a municipal theater.
