800 Year Memorial
When entering the municipality from the direction of Szigetköz, where the smith’s workshop once stood, a memorial park honors 800 years of a craft that has defined the lives of the municipality's residents and provided them with a livelihood. The sword points to long-lost arts such as swordsmithery as referenced by the name of the municipality. The village was part of Saint Laslo’s border protection system, a link on the chain of the western border. The boat expresses the closeness of the Moson Danube, the defining role water played in the life of the community. Fishing and river transit meant the livelihood of the village residents for centuries.
