The Church of Our Lady of the Snows
In centuries past (1600) Dunaszeg had already had a church. According to tax records from 1658, the church was destroyed this year. In 1720, the Baroness Terézia Viczay commissioned a church to be built in its place. It was originally constructed in Baroque style but has been somewhat remodeled since. In his book, 'Monuments and Memorials in Hungary' István Genthon writes in the chapter on the monuments of Transdanubia: ''a Roman Catholic church with a tower preceding the facade and a sanctum enclosed by three sides of the octagon. A three-arched nave and sanctum. Baroque main altar and pulpit. Built in 1720.''
