Győr-Újváros Church of the Transfiguration of Our Lord
Construction of the Lutheran church designed by Antal Fruhmann, the excellent and renowned architect, began in 1836 in the place where the first known Lutheran church had stood. The construction process lasted 5 years. This place of worship is the second largest church in Győr and is still a leading example of Neoclassicism art history.
Reformed Church
The church bears the stylistic elements of late Historicism, its layout features many different separate areas. Its inner space gives a sense of unity and the huge hall is ornamented with simple Gothic style motifs. The lengthwise foundation ends in an octagon of which six sides enclose the apsis.
