Arrabona EGTC

The statue park was established where the barbed wire fencing marking the Hungarian-Slovakian-Austrian border once stood, of which one post is still there, with its top painted red, white and green. At the center of the statue, the park is a triangular block of concrete with the code of one of the three countries at each side. This is the Tri-border of Hungary, Austria, and Slovakia. The triangular marble table was created by Austria, it has three benches on either side and the table surface of the block is ornamented with each country’s coat of arms. The aim of the symposium was to create a symbol of exemplary meaning for Europe freed from political borders. A sculptor from each country took part in the project and the work was placed at the three countries’ common border.
