Arrabona EGTC

The castle gained its present Baroque form in the second half of the 18th century and later in the 19th century Károly Khuen-Héderváry applied the stylistic characteristics of Romanticism, but the building was shortly restored to its previous Baroque exterior. In most recent times, it has operated as a four-star castle hotel. Since its closing, it has not been accessible to visitors.

Potato Bug Statue

The bronze statue commemorates the fact that the first Hungarian sighting of the potato beetle, an insect that destroys the leaves of the potato plant, was in Hédervár in 1947. The plaque by the only statue in the country depicting a bug emphasizes that the artwork does not honor the pest, but rather the beginning of the organized protection of plants and crops which dates back to around the time when the potato beetle was discovered.

Saint Michael's Church

The Baroque church was built in 1755. The marble baptismal pool dates back to 1308.

Chapel of the Assumption of Our Lady

The burial place of the Héderváry family, built in the 15th century. In the 17th century, Katalin Héderváry had the country's first Loreto side-chapel commissioned, which also became a place of pilgrimage honoring Mary. At the end of the 19th century, it was reconstructed in Neo-Gothic style. The chapel was restored last in 1994. The urns kept here contain the hearts of the women of the family.
