The Battle of Bratislava was fought near present-day Bratislava sometime between July 4 and 7 of 907. The conflict between the Eastern Franks and the Hungarians saw the Hungarians deal a devastating defeat to their enemy. The memorial was renovated to commemorate the 1100th anniversary of the battle.

The company FinomSág located in Győrság offers a variety of small farmer's products (eg.: herbal syrups and jams) made from the produce from their own farm and without any preservatives or additives and with gentle heat treatment.

A national guard of 30 miners attacked a Soviet convoy on the morning of November 8, 1956. Thanks to this measure, all 17 Hungarian captives in the convoy were able to escape. During the half-hour shoot-out, a 20-year-old miner lost his life, his name was József Nyírádi and he was buried in the village cemetery with a church ceremony three days after the conflict. The Soviet soldiers retreated to the city of Győr.
